We believe that some of the best creative ideas happen when different people bring their own expertise to the same project.

A wedding planner sees a space differently from a florist. A photographer sees a beauty look differently from a makeup artist. A hairstylist thinks about movement, texture and light in a completely different way.

That’s exactly why we love collaborations.

Every project gives us an opportunity to learn something new, experiment with a different aesthetic, and challenge ourselves. It also allows us to show what we do outside of a traditional wedding day, when there is more freedom to create and play with the details.

And honestly, we learn something every single time.

💄 Makeup Should Look Like You

One of the things that matters most to us is personalization.

There is no single definition of beautiful bridal makeup. Skin tones, skin textures, facial features, personal style and even the climate all have to be taken into consideration.

A makeup look that works beautifully on one person might not be the right choice for someone else.

Our artists are trained to work with different skin types, complexions and styles, with the goal of enhancing what is already there rather than covering it up.

For us, great bridal makeup is when you can still recognize yourself in the mirror, just a little more polished, radiant and confident.

Whether the bride wants something very natural, a more defined look, glowing skin or a little more glamour, the technique should adapt to her.

Not the other way around.

Doing bridal hair and makeup in Cozumel, Cancun, Tulum or anywhere in the Riviera Maya comes with its own challenges.

That’s why we don’t believe in simply recreating a Pinterest photo.

We take inspiration from the reference, then adapt it to the person sitting in our chair.

That’s where the artistry comes in.

One of our favorite things about this collaboration was being able to focus on the details.

The makeup. The hair. The dress. The flowers. The cake. The table. The lighting. The way everything looked together.

And then there are the details that nobody necessarily sees in a photograph, like the products we choose to use.

For us, quality matters.

We work with professional, high-quality makeup and hair products because bridal beauty needs to perform. It needs to look beautiful in person, photograph beautifully, and stay comfortable for hours.

And we also love adding those little luxury touches that make the experience feel special.

For example, after finishing the hairstyle, we can add a delicate hair mist for that final touch. We love CHANEL perfumes, which are specifically designed to lightly scent the hair without making it feel heavy.

It’s such a small detail, but it changes the experience.

You don’t just want to look beautiful.

You want to feel beautiful.

📸 Creating for the Camera But Keeping It Real

Another reason we love creative shoots is that they give us the chance to think about beauty from a photographic perspective.

A makeup look can look completely different in natural light, studio light or flash photography. The same goes for hair.

During a collaboration, we have time to look at the details from different angles, experiment with close-ups, and see how everything translates through the camera.

That’s incredibly valuable for our artists.

There was something particularly fitting about creating this collaboration in Cozumel.

Destination weddings are about more than the ceremony itself. They’re about the feeling of being somewhere beautiful, surrounded by the people you love, and creating memories in a place that feels completely different from everyday life.

Cozumel has that feeling naturally.

The island gives you the Caribbean backdrop, but it also has its own personality. And at Buccanos, we had the perfect setting to bring together beauty, fashion, florals and event design without losing that sense of place.

The result felt elegant, tropical and effortless, exactly the kind of beauty we love.
